I think that it was really sad when the Hungarian police did not let the mother keep a picture of her baby. Also i think that it was a good idea what Elli did when she hid her poems in her blouse because they would've been burned and she would never have them again. I also thin it was nice when the young guard let Elli's friends give her the food and he let them talk for a little.

I also think that it was very sad when Elli didn't get to say goodbye to her dad before he left to go to the Labor Camp. Also she told her mom to wake her up before her dad left so she could tell him something but her mom forgot and she never even said goodbye. If I was in her place I would be really sad because I wouldn't even know if her was coming back at all and that could have been the last time she talked to him.

What do you think will happen to Elli's dad?

I think that Elli's dad will not make it after all. If you think about it, Elli's mom and dad are about the same age. And Elli is pretty much keeping her mom alive so if her dad has no one and was going through the same thing, he wouldnt have anyone to save him.
