this book is a prequal to The City of Ember, and The People of Sparks

A character besides the main character that i think is important is Nickie. Nickie is a eleven-year-old girl that travels to a town called Yonwood with her aunt Crystal. I think that Nickie is important because she came to the town Yonwood when everyone in the town was getting worried because one of the ladies named Althea Tower (the main character) had a vision of the future. in her vision she saw a world that was burning and there were explosions. Nickie moved into her great grandpa's house were he lived before he died. I think that she is going to be important to the story because right now the author is telling how she is moving into her new temporary home.

I also think that her new friend Amanda that Nickie found in the closet of a room on the third floor of her house. i think that she will be important because she used to take care of Nickie's great grandpa and she knows a lot about the town already and she just told Nickie about the Prophet (Althea Towers) and her vision. Nickie seems very interested in the vision and i think that she will look into it more and go talk to the Prophet to understand more about her vision because she is a very curious person. I can't wait to find out what happens next!!!

1. I think that he will get his story put in the paper because he is making a big deal out of it and people are interested in it.

2. I think that Mrs. Narwin is really unfair because she has a grudge against Phillip so what ever he does she thinks it is wrong. I don't like Mrs Narwin because she seems like a cranky teacher.

3. I think that you shouldn't humm during the National Anthem because it is a little disrespectful to the Anthem and he is just trying to dirupt the class it's not like he is actually humming along to sing the song he is doing it to anoy Mrs. Narwin
